Books I recommend

Here are some of my favourite books on the topic of marketing, digital and how we work:

Linchpin

Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?

My favourite book so far. Seth Godin inspired me to pursue a career in marketing and explains how the industrial world has changed forever. We are no longer cogs in a system trying to reach peak efficiency. We need to step up in our organisations and make ourselves indispensable.

Growth Hacker MarketingGrowth Hacker Marketing: A Primer on the Future of PR, Marketing, and Advertising

A tremendously helpful book on the how startups like Dropbox, Airbnb and Twitter ‘hacked’ their marketing. Of course we know there is no such thing as an easy hack when it comes to marketing, but this book delves into the strategies we need to consider in a digital world. Ryan Holiday does a great job in redefining marketing as ‘anything that grows your business’. The book details strategies for optimising everything from what your product is, creating buzz around launch and to how to make it go viral.

TheTippingPoint

The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference

This is one of the classics. Usually we can plot the exact moment when something turns into a success. After all that work there is a point in time where it is tipped over the edge.

power-of-habit

The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

A brilliant read that delves into why we do what we do; including our subconscious behaviours and habits. Duhigg investigates how habits re formed, how to break the ones that are holding us back and how to create new habits that will last.
